Family-controlled Swedish investment house Kinnevik is set to appoint Dame Amelia Fawcett as its new chairman. It has had female leaders for 11 of the past 13 years.

Family-controlled Swedish investment house Kinnevik is set to appoint Dame Amelia Fawcett as its new chairman at its AGM on 21 May.

The proposed election underlines the digital innovator’s tradition of female leadership that has seen female chairs helming it for 11 out of the past 13 years.

Fawcett, a former Morgan Stanley executive who chaired the Guardian Media Group for seven years, has been deputy chairman since 2013.

The cream of continental business talent will be celebrated at the fifth annual European Families in Business Awards in Berlin on 21 June.

The cream of continental business talent will be celebrated at the fifth annual European Families in Business Awards in Berlin on 21 June.

Family business leaders and business school experts on the judging panel for CampdenFB have shortlisted the 30 best of the best from more than 250 nominations across six categories. Close to 1,000 companies have been nominated since 2012.

CampdenFB announced the winners of the Families in Business Awards 2013 last night at the Cercle National des Armées in Paris – recognising family businesses that excel in governance, stewardship and, of course, business.

Finnish automotive company Broman Group has taken the top honour at this year's CampdenFB European Families in Business Awards, while Spanish fashion and fragrance house Puig has been recognised with the inaugural lifetime achievement award for its exemplary stewardship of the third-generation business.
