Top-tier salaries in family offices have increased since 2016 with most chief executives now paid more than $300,000 a year, a study by Agreus reveals.

Chief executives and investment related roles also generated the biggest bonuses of between 31% and 50%, with the high-end receiving more than 50%. However, the percentage of salary paid as bonuses was similar to the findings last year by the family office resourcing and recruitment consultancy.

The head of strategic planning at technology-company Infosys, Ganapathy Subramanian, will reportedly step down after a nearly a decade and take on a managerial role at the chief executive’s family office. 

The head of strategic planning at technology-company Infosys, Ganapathy Subramanian, will reportedly step down after a nearly a decade and take on a managerial role at the chief executive’s family office.

According to an article from Business Standard, Subramanian will join Infosys’ cofounder S D Shibulal – set to retire in August – at his family office Innovations Investment Management India in Bangalore in the near future.

The result is announced by a press release. New popes, however, are elected by a bunch of men fluttering down baroque corridors in colourful gowns, talking in Latin, fidgeting with prayer beads and channelling the Almighty. 

They let the world know what they’ve decided via an eccentric system of smoke-signals. Still, it seems to work.

John Elkann, head of family-controlled Fiat, has taken over as chief executive of the family’s investment company Exor, adding to his current role of chairman.

In a statement, the Turin-based investment company said that besides Elkann’s appointment as chief executive, it had also appointed its first chief investment officer. Tobias Brown, former investment officer for late billionaire Sir James Goldsmith, is to take over Exor’s worldwide investment activities.

Family-managed technology and communication company Qualcomm announced on 5 January that it plans to acquire Atheros Communications for $3.1 billion in cash.

The deal, made with the intention of expanding Qualcomm's technologies to new business areas, is the company's largest acquisition to date. It would provide Qualcomm with access to growth opportunities beyond its traditional cellular markets.
