Josip Kotlar is a family business professor, speaker and adviser. He is associate professor of strategy and family business at the School of Management of Politecnico di Milano. He is a board member and research director of the International Family Enterprise Research Academy (IFERA) and associate editor of Family Business Review.

His research has been published in leading academic peer-reviewed journals, received more than 4,000 citations, won several awards, and is frequently featured in business press and media. His research, executive education and advisory activity aims to help small and large family businesses develop purposeful strategies that leverage innovation to create value for them and for all their stakeholders.
